Kaolack: un terrain de Basket offert par le SEED, baptisé Kobe Bryant

Pape Gallo Fall, vice président de la NBA, fondateur du Sport for Education and Economic Development (SEED) a inauguré ce lundi un terrain de basket que son organisation a offert à l’école élémentaire Mouhamadou Mansour Ba de Ndorong, Kaolack. Le bijou flambant neuf a été baptisé au nom de Koby Bryant, la légende du basket américain, décédé dans un accident d’hélicoptère.

 » C’est un des rares joueurs qui ont fait l’unanimité comme grand travailleur. Nous avons voulu commémorer sa mémoire ici à Kaolack, partager notre douleur et célébrer l’homme, car il était quelqu’un de très engagé pour l’investissement sur la jeunesse, il avait même commencer une académie où il voulait transmettre son savoir à la génération future » a expliqué le directeur de la NBA Africa.

Fondé en 1998 par Amadou Gallo Fall, le SEED est une organisation non gouvernementale qui crée des initiatives éducatives et sociétales basées sur les valeurs du Sport et de l’excellence. Le SEED utilise le sport notamment le basket comme vecteur d’inspiration, de motivation et d’appui au développement holistiques des jeunes.

 » Avec SEED Academy que nous avons entamé à Thies en 2002, les jeunes ont l’opportunité d’utiliser leur talent en basketball, mais aussi développer leur capacité pour devenir de bons citoyens. Pour nous l’avenir de l’Afrique repose sur la santé physique de sa jeunesse, mais aussi dans sa capacité de relever les défis futurs par rapport à l’environnement et le développement socio-économique  » a révélé celui qui a été promu récemment président de la Basketball Africa League.

M. Fall a conclu que le terrain de basket n’est que le premier pas de l’expansion de SEED dans la région de Kaolack, mais qu’il a un projet au village d’enfants SOS de Bongré, et qu’un entraîneur formé sur la mise à la disposition des jeunes de Touba Ndorong.
